T-minus 11 days and counting...

... until VIETNAMERICA's Jan 25th release. If anyone's still debating whether to get the book after seeing the various preview art and write ups that have been floating around, the awesome photographer/filmmaker Joe Tomcho created this book trailer for VIETNAMERICA to help you decide (with music by Garth Stevenson):

Hopefully that got you off the fence and in the "yes!" column. If so and you want to pick up a copy, live in the NYC area, and are looking for something to do Thursday evening, Jan 27th, then come celebrate with me at the book launch party at MoCCA!

As an extra bonus, the party coincides with the final days of their current Al Jaffee/Liza Donnelly/Denis Kitchen exhibits so come for the free art and booze! And as an extra-extra bonus, I'm working on a special-little-something exclusively for everyone buying a copy that evening at MoCCA, and here's a peek:

Even though the ARC I read was in black & white I was thoroughly engaged with the story and the drawings. What a well done work. I am recommending it to all the readers and librarians I know!

Thanks for the support, ladies! Lizzieheff, hope you get a hold of the color version—Villard really broke out the bells 'n' whistles to make an incredibly beautiful book!

Hey GB-
Obviously you may not remember me but i was one of your visitors at your table at NYCC. (robust viet dude with a Mets cap on)yeah that is as much info i can give because i stink at describing myself. My cousin was at your launch party and i was seriously po'ed i missed it. Ive been waiting since the con to purchase the book from you and only you..not from amazon or whatever source. But anyway just wanted to congratulate you on the release of the book and i cant wait to read it. The stuff you showed me at NYCC still has me excited to this day. Anyway I hope for mega succes to come your way.

Best regards,
Dan

Thanks for the shout out, Dan. I really appreciate you waiting to buy the book in a method that helps me the most, but honestly every copy sold—no matter how or where—is very much appreciated! I'm trying to line up more local events in the coming months, so hopefully we'll cross paths again sooner rather than later...

Hi GB. A friend of mine posted your book cover/web address on his FB wall and that lead me to your site. I like your work. Impressive. Just bought 3 copies of Vietnamerica from Amazon.com. One for myself and 2 for my 2 nephews. I am sure they will appreciate it too.

Regards,
